Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Nativity

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Placed quite timely by the Church at the moment in which we are moving toward the close of the Advent season, let this Feast call to mind afresh the importance which Our Lord has chosen to give to Our Lady.  At Guadalupe, Our Lady brought her Son, in a calm and gentle manner, communicated through a miraculous image which immediately touched the hearts of the native people.  This message shone in their minds like a great star appearing in the dark of night, leading them, like the magi, to the miracle of the Incarnation.  Place yourself there, with those people in the past, and behold the God who brought the conversion of that nation.  Reflect, knowing that Our Lord’s presence on this earth has such gentle yet mighty power.
